Two sisters. One studio.

Murphy Studios is where Lisa and Laurie Murphy share what they make and do. Lisa is a visual artist and leather worker. Laurie is a theatre creator, improv instructor, and marriage commissioner. They're identical twins, and they've been making things — separately and together — for most of their lives. This is the place where that work finds its people.

What we believe

We believe that handmade things carry meaning. That a painting holds the hours its maker spent in front of it. That a good improv class changes how you listen. That a wedding ceremony should feel like the people getting married. That a carefully chosen vintage piece has a story worth continuing. Murphy Studios exists to connect those things — and the people behind them — with the right homes.

Visual artist & leather worker

Lisa Murphy

Lisa is a painter and leather worker. Her visual art is rooted in colour, texture, and the quiet drama of everyday observation. She works primarily in acrylics and mixed media. Her leather work carries the same sensibility: considered, tactile, made to last. Laurie's identical twin, Lisa brings the same creative intensity to the studio that her sister brings to the stage.

Laurie Murphy

Laurie has spent decades in theatre — writing, directing, performing, and teaching improv. She also officiates weddings, bringing the same warmth, humour, and presence to ceremonies that she brings to the stage. Whether you're booking a class, grabbing tickets, or planning a wedding, Laurie shows up fully.
